Happy Halloween!-From A Farmer

Happy Halloween!-From A Farmer

Happy Halloween...Where scary is replaced by family trick or treating...Where frightful monsters are simply Casper the Friendly Ghost and his friends.

Halloween is a precursor of All Saint's Day and should not be a time to dwell on the negative/terrifying but should be a day to promote the positive/happy.

For farmers, the promotion of the positive is how we go through the season of autumn, since all the crops are harvested and are stored or sold to prepare for winter. It is a cooling down period, both literally and figuratively. It is a time to thank God for a good crop or for His help in giving us another year if there was a meager harvest.

In other words, farmers stand with Linus when he said in It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,"Have you come to sing pumpkin carols [or not]?"
